Artist's Comments

Translated literally, it means "darkness". In upper Finland, kaamos is a natural phenomenon where the sun doesn't reach above the horizon and there's total darkness for a long time

a classical concert in the darkness. when I was a kid I was obssesed over violins, I was never abled to get my hands on one due to my economical annd political position at the time but my love for the instrument and its celestial sound never faded. I vectored this based on a previous work of mine. It was brought to my attention that the piece bears strong resemblance to certain art work for the band Apocalyptica which coincidentially has a song "Kaamos, this is, as stated before, completely coicidential. Anyway this time around I added an extra color to add to the stunningly beautiful contrast between black ,red and white. Many thanks to the folks of Angryblue for the pretty brushes.

This was my first project on my brand new iMac G5, and man...its such a smooth ride I love it.

Wow! That is absolutely beautiful, and a powerful image as well. It conjures up thoughts of all the intense emotion that can be held in some music.
:iconmannequinish:
thank you, the violin can indeed summon some pretty spiffy emotional outbursts. =]

as soon as my demo is done, I will run this image against some other ideas to make the cover.
